Top 7 Burger Joints in Liverpool

13/10/2022

From your nan to your dog, everyone enjoys a burger, and Liverpool does not run shy of great places to buy a greasy burger. I'm here to give you an extremely biased opinion on the best burger places in Liverpool from a burger obsessive like myself. And so, the countdown begins….

7. Frost Burgers

After the unfortunate discovery of Frost Burgers closure, I was planning on taking this out of my top 7, however I believe they still deserve a mention. Being known as one of the best vegan burger joints in Liverpool, even meat lovers are attracted to Frost for their flavour and personality. I tried the scorpion burger, which included two beef free patties with loads of extras like jalapeños and chipotle to give it that extra kick.

6. Almost Famous

Almost Famous is based on Parr Street, round the corner from Crazy Pedros, and I popped into here on a break from work. Ordering the Triple Nom 2.0, a double patty with pulled pork. The pulled pork was the highlight of the burger, packed full of flavour and extremely tender. The fries were good, but the burger was definitely the star of the show.

5. Fat Boy Burgers

Fat Boy Burgers is a relatively new discovery for me, I'm guilty of returning to the same place that I know I love but decided to try something new. Ordering one chicken burger (Supreme Burger) and one beef burger (Fat Boy Burger), there was definitely a lot of flavour and therefore is a greasy favourite of mine. Only downfall would be more seasoning on the fries, as they were just salted, but that's to everyones own preference, they had a large selection of loaded fries which I'm keen to try in the future.

4. Archies

Archies is an extremely popular burger joint in the heart of Liverpool, loved by students especially. The Sweet Alabama Burger and the Texas Tornado are a high favourite of mine… gotta get a little bit of chicken and a lil bit of beef to balance each other out. It's on the pricier side for burgers on Ubereats, but if you've got the cash, it's well worth giving it a try.

3. Fat Hippo

Fat Hippo can be delivered, but is mainly known as a sit-down burger restaurant in Liverpool. The restaurant specialised in different types of burgers, so I decided to try the Honey Monsta. This burger had a little bit of everything, beef, chicken and bacon all in one. To top it all off, the honey complimented everything really nicely. Fat Hippo is great for a date night, night with friends or even just delivered to your front door.

2.Ohannes

Ohannes Burgers is based on Cases Street, right outside Clayton Shopping centre. I never understood the hype until I had tried them. We ordered a Meat Mania Burger and a Cheese Mania Burger (interesting coming from a lactose intolerant girl like myself. The cheese and fried onions were the best part of this, so if you're a cheese lover I would defo give it a go.

1. Pattersons

Some may judge for a chicken shop being no.1 on this top 7 burger joints… "how can it be the top when it doesn't sell beef burgers?" but honestly two of the best burgers I have ever tried. Me, being as indecisive as ever, had to order two and split them with my partner and they did not disappoint. We ordered the Texas Perfection and the Smoking Aces and they really were one of the best burgers in town.
